Install or read skills
- Connect your agent and verify access.
- Choose the skills that match your goal from the current release above. Review their instructions before enabling them.
- If your assistant offers skill upload or installation, download the ZIP and follow that supported flow. If the bundle contains individual upload ZIPs, select those instead of uploading the outer bundle. For ChatGPT, use the Skills upload controls available to your account or workspace; if unavailable, explain the limitation.
- Confirm the chosen skill appears in the assistant's installed or enabled skills. Do not infer installation from a download, a successful MCP connection, or reading Markdown.
- Ask for the outcome you want, such as “Review my career progress.”
For assistants without skill installation, open the relevant Markdown instructions for use in the current conversation. Say that guidance was read, not installed. Availability varies by assistant and workspace.
MCP connection and skill installation are separate. Skills never grant access to your records.
Skills are optional guidance. The connected MCP provides the available actions and safeguards.
